Maulana Mohammed Fazlurrahim Mujaddidi Meeting with Chief Minister of andhra pradesh Chandra Babu Naidu

New Delhi, October 24, 2024: A delegation from the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), led by its General Secretary Maulana Fazlurrahim Mujaddidi, met with the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu, in Amravati to discuss the Muslim community’s objections to the proposed Waqf Amendment Bill 2024. The bill, currently under review by the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), has raised significant concerns among the Muslim community.

During the meeting, Maulana Fazlurrahim Mujaddidi presented a detailed memorandum highlighting the community’s rejection of the bill. He argued that the proposed amendments, if implemented, would dilute the existing Waqf Act and facilitate the usurpation of Waqf properties.

Chief Minister Naidu expressed his sympathy toward the concerns raised and assured the delegation of his support. He acknowledged the efforts of his party’s MPs in pushing the bill to the JPC for further review. Naidu also committed to reviewing the memorandum submitted by AIMPLB and to take necessary actions to address the community’s grievances.

Other prominent members of the delegation included ML Md. Abu Talib Rahmani, Jb Abdul Qadeer Khan, and other Muslim ministers and MLAs from the TDP. The meeting lasted for approximately one hour.

The AIMPLB’s proactive stance on the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 underscores its ongoing efforts to protect the interests of the Muslim community and safeguard Waqf properties from potential misuse under the proposed changes.
